going green
Sometimes a shirt should spark debate. If you are a bit tired of being grilled by your friends about the benefits of recycling, or mocked for your likelihood to tut at McDonalds - avoid this shirt. Your life will just get worse, and your chest bruised, as people point at the 50 icons and ask ‘whats that one then?’. But other than that mild downside - hurrah for ethical tees.
Oh - and when people ask if it’s printed on organic cotton say ‘no - the woven hair of massacred polar bears!’.
ken - boris - boris - ken
Now is the best time in the history of the world to be a londoner I should think.
Ken and Boris. The dream team.
These shirts from mingled.co.uk kind of sum it up. And for some reason the creepy high contrast yellow doctor who parallel universe evil alien style models are really appropriate for the most bizarre political battle this century.
Lieraq
Everyone shoul dget political once in a while, and teecos are no exception. Some get political ALL of the time - like Progresswear. We’ve covered them before, and I really expected that they would make the top 50 tshirt sites, but they just missed out.
Patrick at Progresswear is taking it a step further and putting the cash where the talk is, and sending the veterans for peace campaign cash from every sale of the Lieraq shirt. Go see…

Peace Gear Girls
One of the best tees of last year, the Peace Gear, which I proudly wear on bike days whenever I get the chance, is now available in Ladies cut! Hurrah. So cyclechicks - get em while their hot.

A whole bunch of other cool new stuff at Art in the Age. I’m not into shiny gold overprinting - but hey!
dark green and windy
Artifex tees are pretty dark green. If you have the urge to slap environmental baddies in the face with a tee they’ll GET then pictures of windmills are probably going to do it. Not as hard as those classic greenpeace ‘STOP ACID RAIN’ tees from the 90s (what happened to acid rain anyway - did those tees work?? wow!) - but pretty hard.

drm sucks
Don’t you just love it when corporate types get all hip and free. DRMless downloads at amazon are one thing. But cool Tees to mark the occasion - hypercool. More here, via Boing Boing.

repunation - comedy national insults.
Slogan tees can be a bore - unless they do something a little differently. Repunation does things a little differently. A bunch of slickly typeset, hard hitting or just plain funny national insults / stereotypes.

The photography is great. Interesting scenes, well shot, in the real tee. No odd photoshopping here. You DO run the risk of being barred entry to clubs, and being smacked in the mouth if you run into touchy foreigners wearing these though. These would make great gifts for people living abroad. Ambiguous shirts galore!

Obama bandwagon jumpin’
Stolen Goodies have a particularly sinister floaty Obama shirt at the moment, which reminded me I’d been meaning to link them up for a while. Lesson of this shirt - never clutter a good image up with stupid lettering!
They should sell this shirt on the Barack Obama . com site. Much better than this official obama 08 shirt.

EULAs EULAs everywhere!
Well, not EULAs as such, but a rental agreement - on a TEE SHIRT! What next. If you get one of these you have to coulnt how many people believe the print, and let me know. You know someone somewhere is going to take this seriously. Even sober. Once drunken and brain impaired - of course they will. Comedy stuff.

soliloquy - so lee low qway
“Just a small company with the aim of creating thought provoking designs…trying to help change the way a few people look at the world..” Indeed. No sweatshops? check! Fairtrade? check! Organic? check! Environmentally friendly ink? check! Never eat at McDonalds? check! (actually, I made that last one up, but I bet it’s true - these guys have taste!). Full scoop here.

Another great feature of the site is the model pics. The locations are just the best! So British and autumnal! Local is the new global as Tom @ soliloquy says.
Check the tees here.
Funda mental
“The shirt you’ve all been waiting for. Pat Robertson. Diagnosed on a t-shirt.” It’s not often I copy the text from a Tshirt page, but it’s not often it gets so neatly to the point. A seriously nice t-shirt. You can never fault the typography on progress shirts. Never. And they pay attention to the ladies, not just feeding them smaller guy shirts. The photography and site layout have had a recent lift as well - a seriously nice site now. Read more about Progress in this article at city paper. (I hate it when I sound all fan-boy!)
a timely reminder
With everything that has been happening in good old Blighty this past few days, this seems the ideal shirt to sport. Check out this page too for some interesting background - great for boring anyone who comes up to you with a ‘great shirt’ comment.

political tees : obama
As 2008 gets closer and closer I think we’re going to see the quality of design on political tees steadily improve. This Obamania shirt should see the start of the trend, taking a classic cut out and just making it look great with type and layout. Nice work people.
