Hellery tshirt

Natalie Dee does some nice t-shirts. Hellery is my current favourite. Have a look. Some funny cartoons too, but you probably knew that already.

shotdeadinthehead.com

2 great tees from shot dead in the head t-shirts. Actually, three!

Penguin shoot. Simple quote tshirts can be a bit dull, so the quote has to be good. The standout line in the whole of both runs of Life on Mars for me was Gene Hunts “she’s as nervous as a very small nun at a penguin shoot”. In fact, the biggest disappointment of the final episode of the final series was the lack of Huntisms. Hunt shirts are great.

Psycho Delia would work better on a tie dye shirt in my opinion, but is pretty cool noonetheless. If you haven’t discovered Delias complete cookery course yet - well you haven’t lived. Slightly out of date versions of classic dishes. Succulent!

delia.jpg

ISBN tshirts - amazing idea, amazed I haven’t seen this before. Well done chaps! H2G2 a good choice, Harry Potter is no doubt popular although I don’t get the whole wizard thing. I bet Pratchett ones would sell though.

Found via a google ad in my Gmail - would you believe!

ultimate star wars tshirt stack

Star Wars t-shirts are making a comeback, who knows why, I blame LEGO myself! Some of the better, more interesting, funny or abstract ones listed below. Add any more to comments if I missed your favourite!

Stormtrooper a simple red on white stylised stromtrooper design from bangbangtshirts. Storm trooper shirts should be white, shouldn’t they!

storm.jpg

Han shot first - of course he did. Nice cartoony tee from the starwars shop.

han.jpg

Han shot first two - if the cartoon is just a little too cartoony, and the tee too colorful (i.e. not black) try this classic from thinkgeek.

han2.jpg

Booboo Walker - dogs look cool with those ‘don’t bite your leg’ collars. Why not these guys! From Go Ape.

walker.jpg

Podracing Capri - one for the Brits of a certain age this. A classic peoples sportscar turned into one of the cooler vehicles of the movies. Nice. Another from bang bang t-shirts.

podracer.jpg

Dark side of the garden - Threadless have to turn up here somewhere, despite the fact they seem to NEVER print the great star wars related idea submissions - copytheft problems I assume. A few girly sizes left, none for guys until they reprint.

clipper.jpg

Che Trooper - classic che tee remade with a nice storm trooper mask. Amusing. From UrbanMedium (who need bigger pics of their tees on their site - this is the biggest I could find! it’s tiny!)

che.jpg

Distressed Logo - want to look like you bought the shirt the first time round? Look no further. No one will be fooled, obviously, but it’s worth a try. Distressed logo tee from retro clobber.

logo.jpg

Distressed Boba Fett - An empire tsrikes back logo and boba fett - what more could you ask for! From 80stees.

boba.jpg

Costume tees - I love these, even though they are amazingly awful in many ways. I still like the idea of going to the worst fancy dress party ever, where everyone is just wearing a stupid tshirt. From 80s tees.

constume.jpg

OH MY - C3PO saying he hates space travel. Joy. From 8ball tees.

ohmy.jpg

Let the wookie win - Official lego starwars mech - I love the Lego arm rip on this one. From Game, among others.

wookiewin.jpg

RUN R2, RUN - Nice crisp design, special character swearing, R2D2 and a walker. Nice! From split reason.

runr2.jpg

Come to papa - nice joke, nice pic, nice tee. Good old spoiler shirts, be careful with this one, remember - there are always young uns who haven’t seen the movies yet. You could be ruining it for them! From 101 tshirts.

cometopapa.jpg

Ti Fighter starfield - this would make an excellent screen saver, if it weren’t a shirt. Make you chest look like an early 90s PC! From Chunk.

tieallover.jpg

That’s it for another marathon tee hunt folks. Any more, just post ‘em below.

The affair gets going

Any tee company with a designer called Zoltan gets my vote! Zoltan is one of those names I always adopted when I was the overbearing space lord who was evicting the earthings from the playpark when I was 8. ‘Flee the might of Zoltan’ I would shout. The Affair is a new tee label from a couple of Aussies, as far as I know they don’t want the earthlings to flee.

affair.jpg

The flash site has a real feeling that the web designer has been set free, become his own client, and is using those great ideas no one else would pay for! The shot below is part of a 360 spinning guy in a shirt. Really! If you want to see this shirt backwards, just spin it. The attention to detail is supreme - it’s like they’re selling sunseekers, not tshirts.

jesus.jpg

All the shirts are printed on American Apparel and are limited editions of just 200. Snap ‘em up! Free worldwide shipping is available as a launch offer, which saves a few quid / bucks / euros [delete as approp.].

don’t tase me, bro!

Never let it be said that OMGTees is unwilling to leap aboard a fast departing memewagon! Kid gets tased, world laughs and gasps in shock, tee shirts are born. Nice one here, less designey one here.

threadless teddy band

Very quick post with one of the cutest tee shirts from Threadless in a while. They seem to be on a proper animal kick recently. The drummer broke his stick - aww.

Teddy Band - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

everything will be okay

This is a great classic feel tee in lovely 70s oranges and browns with a nice slow bovine feel and a sweet message. Being a cow would be pretty cool, apart from the last few minutes of being led up ramps into the burger factory. Other than that though, unless a twister is chasing them around the field trying to suck them up into the sky, I’m pretty sure they just think ‘you know what - this is alright’. Another nice tee from No Star Clothing is keep the dream alive.

.ok.jpg

snail house on my tee

The shirts at ceer!us apparel are fun. Fun in a weird way. But fun. Imagine a word where snails can live inside monopoly style houses, instead of those old fashioned shells. Then image putting that vision of a Utopian future on your shirt. In green. Cool huh!

snailhouse.jpg

The other standout shirt is the girls bird tee. An amazing high print with silhouette bird shapes in an intense pink on a blue tee. Eye hurtin!

burning paper plane

People Like Us Collective have some great shirts, and one that’s back for a run of just 200 is the burning paper plane. Need I say more? Buy one. You won’t find a better looking light blue tee. This other tee terrifies me though.

3 minute tees

If you only visit one tee site this weekend make it 3 minutes. If only for the navigation and the cool photography of the tee shirts laying on a persian style rug. It’s a joy to behold. It also contains the phrase “New Wearability“, which I’m going to be using endlessly for a month. I can tell.

3min.jpg

The designs are interesting, in a pen and ink sketch kind of way. Mermaids and hot air balloons. Who could resist!

 3min2.jpg

stone roses wanna be adored

Worn By is an interesting label. “Worn By is a label dedicated to recreating garments once worn by icons of the past, using original iconic images.” All the main tee pages have a photo of some iconic celeb / musician wearing a similar shirt. The shirt you are about to buy is a replica / rip off / riff on that original shirt.

We’re talking Mick and Keef, Roger Daltrey, Patti Smith, The Specials. A Joyous collection. UK premium label, so by the time you get one of these to the US it will have topped a hundred bucks. Worth it though. You can say “This is exactly like a replica of the tee Mick Jagger once wore”.

stoneroses.jpg

The Stone Roses tee has a great low print, in the ‘words by‘ collection - not shirts they wore, words they said / sang. Limited edition, £60.

t fodder - hotornot for t-shirts

t*fodder is a pretty simple concept well executed. Look at a bunch of shirt designs, rate them, and link straight through to the tee company to buy them. Couldn’t be simpler. A nice clear, categorised interface lets you look at ‘yellow shirts’ or ‘geek shirts’ or whatever. Very handy. One to waste a few of those minutes you just don’t know what else to do with. A new site, just a few weeks old, head over and rate some tees - these sites live or die by user interaction.

tfodder.jpg

eye watering color

I love magic eye pictures where you stare 6 inches behind the page and see a three dimensional rhino. They always game me a headache, but they were addictive. This tee isn’t a magic eye, but you get that same over colored feeling from it. Or rather the people around you do. And it’s got butterflies which is always good. Well done origin68.

origin68.jpg

Slightly annoying nav on the flash site - so you’ll have to hunt around for it, but it’s a nice site - so it’s hardly a chore. You do the work for once! I like the man made shirt too, and you’ll pass it on the way to this one I think.

Real good stoff from the flea market

I happen to live in the best city that Germany has to offer. Of course I’m talking about Berlin. All T-Shirt-Maniacs could easily shop themselves into their financial ruin - there is so much creativity to see (and purchase), all those little stores and boutiques that often sell self-made stuff that isn’t available anyhere else. Not surprisingly so many companies and artists settle there, especially in the flourishing inner regions of East Berlin such as Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain.
For all people ever planning to visit Berlin as a tourist (and you really should) I’d like to recommend one place I visited again yesterday and I could visit every sunday: the flea market at the Mauerpark.

flea.jpg

The name “Mauerpark” comes from “Mauer” which means “wall” - and in this case it is THE (in)famous Berlin Wall. Eighteen years after its downfall the last remains and reminders of a brutal and injust regime are long gone, instead the former “Todesstreifen” (death zone) has been transformend into a very popular and much frequented park and since a few years there’s a huge flee market every sunday. It’s always crowded as hell, but even though I usually feel uncomfortable in huge crowds I like it a lot. Maybe that’s because of the overall ambiance which is very relaxed after all.

polaroid tee

Polaroid cameras. They have to make a phone with one of those in, so it prints out there and then. Steve Jobs, you listening? I’ll buy an iPhone when it comes with a polaroid function.

Anyway - nice tee from Sean Tubridy. The site has other cool stuff, stickers, robots and rayguns. Hurrah!

wanted: DIY tees

Here at OMGTees we love tshirts. Obviously. We love all kinds of t-shirts. But there are some shirts we hardly ever see.

We want to see your one off, diy, homeprinted, freezer paper / sharpie / school project / maker silkscreen / tie dye / or any other kind of home made experimental tee.

This isn’t a threadless style design competition, this is pure show off!

Send us pics of the tee, but also of the process of designing, making and printing your shirt. Start to finish if you have it, or just a phone snap of your shirt. Just send it through. Stuff like this we just found on Flickr, or this youtube from makezine.

Fame and adulation awaits. We’ll post the best designs from time to time on OMGTees.
