First up a big warm happy tee clad welcome to our new German correspondent Markus. Markus runs a kickass T shirt blog in German called Shirt Spotting, and is going to bring the best of German speaking tshirts to OMG Tees. Over to you Markus!

A big new thing in consumer world is called “LOHAS”. Ever heard of that? This is short for “Lifestyle of Health and Sustainable Development”. The thought is: by carefully chosing the products that you buy you can make a difference. And the striking success of American Apparel clothing proves that a) there is a huge interest out there in buying “politically correct” products and b) there has to be no contradiction in fashionable and ecologically and ethically approvable products.
Now a German company called “armedangels” has set out to bring great design, ecology, ethical fashion and social products together.

The shirts at www.armed-angels.com are all made of organic Fair-Trade-cotton, so there is a strict and certified No Sweatshop-policy – and it’s eco-friendly at the same time.
The angels go even further and donate 3,33€ to social projects with every product sold. Currently the benefits go to hospital and school projects in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. More projects are to follow.

Now this is fine, but it wouldn’t be worth much if the shirts themselves were crappy. So let me tell you: they look absolutely great. Their logo, the angel is an example of great design – and now picture him in gold shining from a brown shirt: yummy. To assure only the best shirt designs are printed, the site shows design previews, and the customers and visitors have the opportunity to give their opinion on them as “Style Scouts”.

Still they all look great, like these:

Lots more pics at their Flickr here. Shirts are from 29.99€ onwards, a fair price for good clothing for a good cause.
